Orthograde Re-treatment of previously treated root canals
It is a sad fact of life (for many patients) that the bulk of our practice deals with re-treatments. Sad, because it is unnecessary. When done properly in the first instance, root canal treatment has a success rate of 95%. We are in the fortunate position to offer our patients this service. It is possible to redo failed root canal treatments and thereby save the teeth. Often this can be done without destroying the expensive crown or bridge on the tooth. It is perhaps enlightening or surprising to learn that re-treatments are totally painless. Consider for a moment that the nerve had in most cases been removed some time ago.
